Navjot Singh Sidhu's public outburst: AAP asks BJP to severe ties with AkalisAMRITSAR: Convener of the Punjab unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sucha Singh Chhotepur has advised BJP to sever ties with SAD (Badal) in the light of Navjot Singh Sidhu's public outburst against Akalis and exposing their alleged wrongdoings in Punjab. Talking to the mediapersons here on Saturday, Chhotepur said that AAP was thankful to BJP ex-MP Sidhu for exposing the real face of Akalis before public.

"If they are so bad and knee-deep in corruption then BJP should sunder its ties with Akalis. I would also suggest that Sidhu's wife and chief parliamentary secretary Navjot Kaur Sidhu should resign to support her his statement."

Chhotepur said that Sidhu had endorsed AAP's allegations of ill-gotten wealth being amassed by Akali leaders and Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal's family's control over many businesses of the state. He alleged that big industrialists were apprehensive about investing in Punjab as they feared of being asked to give share in their businesses to the Badal family.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chhotepur said he had been claiming of giving corruption-free governance then why had he turned a blind eye on the alleged wrongdoings of the alliance partner SAD.

He said that Modi had also overlooked patronizing and nepotism by Badals. "Badal is the chief minister, his son is deputy CM, his daughter-in-law is a Union minister, his son-in-law is a state minister and his son's brother-in-law is a also a Punjab minister. What is nepotism, if not this," asked Chhotepur
