Kolkata train blast: 25 injured in low intensity blast on local train

Titagarh is about 30 km from Kolkata. The blast took place soon after the train left the station for Khardaha station, police sources at Lal Bazar headquarters said.
Police, fire brigade and railway rescue teams have rushed to the spot. Train services on the Sealdah-Barrackpore of the main suburban section have been suspended. R N Mahapatra, CPRO Eastern Railway said security has been beefed up to ensure passenger safety, adding that the incident appeared to be the outcome of group rivalry.
Police sources said preliminary reports indicated that the blast was a low-intensity one and could have taken place accidentally while some explosive was being carried in a bag by some passengers. The police said the explosive may not have been planted in the train.
The police also added that normal train services will resume soon on the section.
